First Photos: At 7, with a borrowed 35 mm antique Nikon. Holding the camera ever so carefully, I took my first steps in a series that have repeated ever since. Pay attention. See. Firm grip. Get close. Peer through the viewfinder. Turn the focus dial. Elbows in. Deep breath. Exhale. Slowly squeeze the shutter release button until the audible cli-CLACK-click announces the successful exposure. Magical. Those first photos are long gone, but I was changed forever by the experience of taking them.

First Camera: Kodak Instamatic at age 12. It gave me the means to capture what caught my eye and moved my spirit. I delighted in the infinite choices that are part of creating an image. This new means of expression changed how I see and interact with the world.

Today: I use 35mm film and digital/color and black & white. Whether I’m creating a portrait, head shot, still life or landscape for use in a client brochure, website, or fine art prints for home or business interior design, or a personal project, my goal is always a high quality, unique, meaningful and effective image that connects with the viewer.
